WhitingWeb is my website business, based in Pretoria, South Africa. I work directly with small and medium-sized businesses on WordPress websites, ecommerce, optimisation, hosting, maintenance, and the technical work that supports them.
The approach is deliberately personal: understand the business, work out what the website actually needs, communicate clearly, and stay involved through the project rather than passing the work through layers of account management.

The Person Behind WhitingWeb
I founded WhitingWeb in 2020 after already spending years working with websites and more than a decade across desktop support, servers, maintenance, troubleshooting, and general IT.
That combination has shaped the way I approach website projects. I care about how the site looks and reads, but I also pay attention to what sits underneath it: hosting, performance, configuration, plugins, security considerations, integrations, and how the different parts work together.
Most importantly, clients deal directly with me. The person discussing the project with you is also closely involved in the planning, development, problem-solving, and delivery.

I aim to explain the project in practical terms so you can make decisions without needing to understand every technical detail.
I would rather recommend what the project actually needs than add complexity simply because another tool or feature is available.
Beyond the Page Builder
Technical Experience
A website can look perfectly fine while something underneath it is poorly configured, difficult to maintain, or creating problems that will become more obvious later.
My broader IT background means I naturally look at the website as part of a technical system rather than only as a collection of pages.
That does not mean making every project more technical. It means knowing when a design problem is actually a hosting problem, when a plugin is introducing unnecessary complexity, or when a simpler implementation is the better choice.
Who You Work With
WhitingWeb is a solo business. That means you are not handed from a salesperson to a project manager and then on to someone you have never spoken to before.
I remain involved in the decisions, design, development, technical work, communication, and review process.
If a project genuinely needs specialist input outside my core work, I can involve trusted partners where appropriate while remaining your main point of contact.
You can manage the website yourself, receive training, or keep WhitingWeb involved with hosting, maintenance, optimisation, and technical support.
